Cal the Greyhound - Looking for a Long Term Commitment

In 2008, the Greyhound Project produced a series of public service announcements to promote greyhound adoption. One of the spots, seen here, featured a black greyhound named Cal who was looking for a long term commitment. Fortunately for Cal, he was adopted soon after filming. But there are thousands more pleasant and adorable greyhound just like him waiting in adoption groups around the world for their forever homes. We just adopted our girl on Saturday! Miss Sparky Kaboom is a gorgeous 10-year-old brindle girl who loves to snooze and snuggle : ) Our two cats Sai and Rasputin are co-existing well with her, though they remain cautiously curious about our new "horse", lol.

As much as I'd LOVE a Malamute, it's not practical for my living situation. As much as I'd LOVE an English Bulldog, it's not feasible for my financial situation.

So, pretty sure my next dog will be a rescue Greyhound. I've met so many of them, and to a dog they are SWEET and lovely. They love people and they love each other.

When Linus (15) and Dulci (13) decide to go to the great beyond, I think that when I"m ready for a dog again (may take awhile, they're my babies), I'm going Greyhound.

This is gorgeous! And, such a good idea. I am about to take on a similar looking greyhound who is just finishing his foster programme (that is set up to convert him from racing dog to pet) and I am counting the days. I expect I will end up with a few!
