I love Bach's handwriting! It looks like a work of art itself not mentioning the music!!!!!

Bach's handwriting is beautiful but very unclear. It's a fact, my teacher says the same. And, f.e. in invention 7 in many places we don't know exactly if there should be a sharp or not.
-
Two points, 1:-Some of Bach's compositions become immediatley clear to a Gifted player,for Instance,Contemplative ?-They don't all have to go like a machine gun !!.
2 :-In The late 50's & 60's, as a budding Bach fan..I also got asked,because of my fine handwriting,as an apprentice draughtsman,to do copywork and quickly became utterly swamped with requests-My writing rapidly descended to an almost identical style to this,-because when you have to write 30 sheets OVERNIGHT ! this is only way.

Although Robert Hill is one of my favourite keyboard players of all time, this particular recording I found disappointing. The bass is too quiet, and the structure of the work is not made clear enough, perhaps as a result of the rubato.

@FûrCe77
Idiot.

bravo!!

Exceptionally fine interpretation and exquisite ornamentation! Rubato is used wisely at critical points! Very flowing and natural playing!

This is such a moving interpretation of a sublime piece of music.
Your rubato is so compelling as it truly comes from your heart.
In the context of 'early music' performance at the moment, this really stands out for me.
All the best, Yair

@F0rCe77 I think you may well be in the distinguished position of being the first person in the last 250 years to have expressed this opinion on Bach's Reinschrift handwriting.
