Edward Turner's Blue Plaque will be unveiled in October - fingers crossed in the London Borough of Southwar where he was born, lived & worked before his Square Four design was picked up by Ariel in the Midlands

Interesting footage. Its a shame Edward Turner died in in the early '70s when it looked as if Triumph would go the same way as the rest of the btitish motorcycle industry. Not so though. It has been possible to buy a Triumph motorcycle (in name at least) every peacetime year from 1902 until present - with the exception of two:1989 and 1990.
This summer (2008), Southwark council will be erecting a Blue Plaque in Edward Turner's honour to mark his birthplace and residence in the London borough prior to his being employed by Ariel and then Triumph. Check Southwark Council's website and Southwark News', too
