This was Orlando's first ever performance on television, for the legendary L!VE TV cable channel.
At the time of our appearance, Janet Street-Porter's much derided venture had only been running for a few month and had yet to descend into the topless darts and dwarf-on-a-trampoline weather forecasts it would become famous for.
However, it was live and shot all within their offices at Canary Wharf Tower. This meant that when I went to the toilet I inadvertently walked through the live soap opera, and at regular intervals everyone would be told to shut up as the live news was read from a desk mere feet from where you were standing (accompanied as always by the News Bunny who would mime appropriate actions and emotions depending on the tone of the story).
L!VE TV provided many bands with their first TV appearance (Spice Girls made their debut around the same time) and as you can see by the youthful looks of presenter Richard Bacon, this was his first telly job too.
This is the demo versions of Nature's Hated we're miming to, which was given away on a cassette on the front of Melody Maker and also as a one track CD at the infamous Fiddling While Romo Burns tour.
