@geraldopus Back in the 1980's, while working in the music department of a liberal arts college, we had a pianist-in-residence by the name of Dimitri Toufexis, and though it's been over 25 years since I last saw him this looks like the man I new and worked with for several years. Working in a college is a situation where very talented individuals are always faced with having to work with sub-pro orchestras/directors. It's a part of the growth process in artistic growth.
simera piga se ena resital toy k.Toyfexi sti Larisa kai epaikse mono erga chopin. itan kataplhktikos. eidika to 2o meros apo to 2o concerto toy chopin me sygkinhse pio poli apo ola. elpizo na ton ksanakoyso sintoma.
i feel very lucky because mr. dimitris was my teacher for 1 year in 1998, the year i took my piano degree. he is very talented. he is a very good teacher. i am lucky!!!!!
This might be an interesting story for you guys who admire this man. I took part long time ago (2000) in a piano competition in Cyprus. Dimitris was one of the members of the jury. One day i with other people sat down to dinner in someones house, and after he played the piano. If i remember correctly chopins nocturne no.20 po. posthume. It was gorgeous, i remember the interpretation till now. A pianist with a beautiful touch, and an interesting gentlemen.
I was lucky enough to be in that concert. I don't want to exagerate but honestly speaking his rendition on Rach2 is the best I heard. Better than Askhenazy, Gavrilov and other big names. I don't mean anything bad about the other famous and important pianists but his Rach2 is truly my favourite!!!
