Classic Game Room HD reviews WIZARD OF WOR for Atari 5200! This arcade classic from Bally Midway makes an awesome 1983 appearance on the oversized Atari 5200 and rocks the plastic and chrome! Amazing graphics (for '83!) and sound effects make this a superior version compared to the good Atari 2600 Wizard of Wor cartridge. Gameplay is harder than the arcade original (or at least the emulated PS2 and PSP versions). Worluks and other monsters move fast and you've got to be on your Worrior toes to defeat them. This CGR review of Wizard of Wor has gameplay from this classic retro old school Atari 5200 game cartridge, Wizard of Wor!!! The game was manufactured by CBS Electronics, who also handled the 2600 cart.

  • @lemonlimestiv sorry but i gotta correct you there, its like pac man with a gun riding a ASS BIRD =)

  • the C64 version is better. this game does not have the End.

  • Diabolical!

  • always thought the 5200 version was a lot better then the arcade version.

  • This is good man, great to see the box. I loved this game. Played it on C64 a lot with friends in the early 80's. I just loved the art for the main guy (doesn't look so good in this 5200 version). Rockin'. That phat unison synth riff at the end of each level is great, and the modulating color on the whole screen. Rad.

  • @deadlygroove1 So true man. I'd probably already be using emulators if I didnd't have a place right down the street that does repairs.

  • To continue, people bast emulation but the purpose behind it was to preserve our old school games so those people should be grateful instead of viewing emulation as a bad thing. Just saying, I'm as old school as old can get but I see the good in modern technology as well when it comes to saving our old school games we all enjoyed in our childhood. :)

  • @ArbyWanKenobi I agree with you dude. Believe me bro, I still have all my gaming consoles since the late 70s to current and I am hardcore but I also realize how valuable emulation is because it preserves all the gaming history and when not one of the original game consoles work anymore, all people will have left is emulation. Retron 3 is still emulation in some way because it is not the original Genesis, SNES or NES console even though the cartridges are. So the real thing is slowly dying. :(

  • @deadlygroove1 I agree with you there, but nothing beats the real thing. Emlation is great, but when you have the option, always get the original.
