I Hope You Dance cover

This is me singing a cover of the song 'I Hope You Dance' by Leeann Womack. Admittedly it is a country song, definitely not one of my favourite genres or something that Im at all used to/good at singing but I've loved this song for years and the message in it is really quite beautiful.

To me this song says to live for every single day as it comes and never stop trying to make your dreams come true. (I know - vomit right... But it is a pretty good way to live ones life)

It reminds me of a message I saw whilst scrolling through facebook bumper stickers earlier today when I was avoiding revision "Never regret anything, because at one time it was exactly what you wanted." This I feel is also a good way to try and live life and goes along with some song lyrics from Rent "Forget Regret, or life is yours to miss" (Coincidently I may sing a song from Rent soon so watch this space!)

So keep striving for your dreams and though you might make mistakes along the way, it's all a learning curve and can only help to make you a better and stronger person in the long run. Unless of course you've done something truly evil like torturing a kitten in which case I can honestly say that I hope you go to hell.

I know I don't really have the right voice or accent for country music, funnily enough that might have something to do with the fact that I'm English and not American. But it's nice not to sound like I'm about to go chomp on some grass so I'm pretty happy that I don't sound like a country artist! So yes. This is a musical theatre singers take on a country song so admittedly it's probably going to sound a little bit different. I also played around with the end a lot as I got bored of singing the same notes repeatedly so wanted to mix them up a bit. Hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you think :)

I love this - hadn't heard this song before, but have a feeling that it will be going on my spotify playlist very soon! You sang it incredibly well - you seem to be getting a lot better at controlling your voice and holding the notes steadily, and it's definitely showing! Keep up the good work :) xxx
