  • Your paintings are beautiful! I truly enjoy learning from you. Now a quick question: A lot of the time I have to stop painting in the middle of a picture, after about a week I can go back to it so what do I do to make it wet again without putting clear liquid on it? It is usually too dry to just start painting and too wet to wipe liquid clear on it.

  • @sherryp47 if its a sky you must finish while wet but for trees and bushes grass you can use a tiny amount of linseed oil then a small amount of oil pant over that then its all wet again i do it all the time you can see this in silence and solitude

  • yeh the dark trees were done with gesso left to dry then i put liquid white on the sky area then i blend it down over the trees.

you must put liquid clear over the gesso then apply your base colour over the liquid clear with oil colour.

i hope this helps bud take care from mick

  • Very generous of you to put so much sweat into a comprehensive series. Question about the dark silhouettes that are already on the canvas as the curtain goes up on Part 1 -- is this black gesso? Also, are the light portions covered with liquid white?

  • thanks 2 you 2 bud, i will have some new vids on soon i hope they r helpfull.

    take care from mick
