Dolly offered Elvis "I will always Love You" and the Colonel told her that he wanted 50% of the song writing credit and royalties and she refused. I am sure Elvis had no say in the matter as the Colonel made that decision. Dolly was right to refuse, but she didn't tell Elvis where to go as you put it. She told the Colonel where to go.
