Zuriaake - Afterimage of Autumn (Chinese and English lyrics)

Video of 'Afterimage of Autumn' by Chinese depressive/atmospheric black metal band Zuriaake. All images are from Chinese brush paintings.

Lyrics on the booklet are a bit different from the ones in the video. Here I post the original(booklet) version. The lyrics follow the style of poems in old Chinese, which makes the imagery and atmosphere hard to be interpreted in English, plus English is not my first language... I tried my best though, hope this may help you perceive the beauty in this song.

細風凌亂
Zephyr drtifting,
碧秋初寒
The first touch of chill in the last green of autumn.
青峰含煙
Jasper peaks obscured in mist,
空山靈云笛聲遠
Empty mountians, timeless clouds, a fluting echoes afar .
白鶴起舞楓林間
White cranes dance in maple woods,
落英繽紛欲相伴
Swirling along, shatters of Terpsichore.
流溪潺潺
Brook warbles through the valley,
秋意濃烈使人酣
Toxicated in the amber odor of autumn.
黃葉蹣跚
Yellow leaves staggering,
松下千年局未殘
One thousand years in a never-ending chess game under the pine tree.
燕雀常觀不知倦
Birds linger on and on

Great music and beautifully stunning video! But where can I find a translation of the lyrics in english? Been looking around but there's only the chinese ones... An answer would be very appreciated!

Thank you for your nice words. But I'm afriad there is no English version at the moment, as the lyrics follow the style of old Chinese, which is highly context-dependent and abstract. I'll try translating them in a few days tho...sorry for the inconvenience.

the poem lyrics and the pictures which root in chinese traditional culture are really fantastic . that's a pity the form of the music dosen't have any chinese feature ,but i think it would be changed because of the band's heavy taste of chinese culture. well, it seems too diffcult for west country's people to understand this mv.

...and It's not the same as you combine some traditional folkish music with typical black metal chords and style,at least it'll become a joke to phase Peking opera into BM. To me it sounds quite Chinese, there're some subtle details that give an Oriental atmosphere...but yeah, surely it can be done better.

@AldurVankar It can be done. Just listen to "Shangren - Monkey King" or "Ego Fall - Spirit of Mongolia" to find the essence of traditional music successfully combined with metal.

absolutely amazing. The best song on the cd is "Return journey" . there they also got some chinese instruments, which sounds really beautiful.
