no is the answer to yr question. 60's mods and revivalists kinda odd and at odds with each other. Some modern revivalists more into carburettas and girls than music. Maybe style council devotees went to the wrong pubs.

they did sold-out gigs in 1992...it's a long and whingeing road to succes you know, still 2000 hungry fans are better than 3...er I mean...better than doing stadium with STATUS QUO...

i used to play this in a band(one way street)a few years ago,doing covers of Secret Affair,Chords,Five Thirty,the Moment etc..great tune

Oh, i have to agree. But funny, really: Back in 85 or 84 i went to see the Prisoners play some obscure club in London. With an audience of 60 or so people and not even 1 mod around, i was a bit astonished ... having travelled from hamburg just to see them.
Does anybody know just when the british mods turned to this band? Cheers!

For my money The Prisoners were the best UK band of the 80s. Head and shoulders above the rest. Great original songs. Great musicians. Great live. What more could anyone want? It just blows me away how almost no-one even seemed to notice them. Are people really so stupid?
