@greasyredneck did you check the connections? (jiggle the positive, try different grounding points) also make sure the battery you used was fully charged. you may have to rebuild your starter, if you look around you can usually find brush kits kinda cheap.

@oney135 ouch, that was painful to hear lol
-
thanks for the advice, i did that and the starter moved a little bit but didnt turn over my engine?
-
@motox458 ya if you find them on ebay they go from any were around 100-200 bucks someone on ebay was selling new old stock for $164 while his stock lasted since they don't make them any more
-
@oney135 oh boy, thats what I was afraid of, it is a tecumseh hh120 with solid state. If its gonna cost me alot I may try to do a redneck job of putting a new wire on it before I pay alot for a good one.
-
@TheSaturnV yup, now if I just had more money to spend on my toys that would be even better :D
-
@greasyredneck try connecting the positive lead directly to the starter, if you still don't get anything then your starter is most likely bad, if it does turn over when you directly connect the starter that could mean your solenoid is bad, or key switch, or it could be a broken wire somewhere along the way.

if that sears has a tecuseh and is solid state ignition you are going to pay out the butt for a new coil if u can find one
You might be able to get buy with putting some gas line over the chewed spark plug wire.
