  • @GohModley No doubt. I feel you on that one. LOL. Shit, anybody who works with Jake Roberts period deserves mad respect fam.

  • Steamboat and Valentine had reached that point in their careers which all wrestlers strive for. The point where you can go out and have a good match with almost anyone you work with. It takes a long time to reach that point in your career when you're a wrestler. Thank God for those old NWA territories. Everybody that came to the WWF in the 80s knew how to work when McMahon started recruiting talent, b/c they were coming out of the NWA. You can't get any better than that talent wise.

  • @GohModley Yes indeed.

  • Two totally different styles but two of my favorite wrestlers nonetheless. The thing about Valentine is he had a slow, methodical style, but it was interesting and entertaining to watch. There are a lot of wrestlers who break into wrestling with slow, methodical styles that are boring as hell to watch. If you're going to have a slow, methodical style, you best know how to draw attention to every move you execute inside that ring or else people will be bored shitless.

  • @hoghash78 How is Steamboat not a legitimate tough guy?

  • Any man who lets Jake Roberts DDT his noggin on concrete deserves mad respect.

  • two mid-atlantic stars

  • Great matchup here between two wrestlers who could do a lot of damage

  • This was before we were supposed to know that Kung Fu and Karate are two different martial art forms, lol. Also, as great as Steamboat was, his "martial arts" were about as generic as it gets.

  • Ricky the Dragon steamboat was my favorite wrestler next to Hogan
