Requiem For A Dream: "Toy Soldiers"

Thought I'd put one of my favorite songs with some clips from one of my favorite movies, "Requiem For A Dream". Both are about drug addiction and the total devastation it can do to anyone's life.
"Toy Soldiers" was released on January 27, 1989 and spent two weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and New Zealand. On Billboard's year-end chart for 1989 the song placed #29.
Martika, who also co-wrote the song, claimed her inspiration came from a friend who was battling cocaine addiction at the time.
It was Martika's only #1 single in the U.S., and was certified Gold by the RIAA.
The song was also popular in the UK and Australia, and in 2009 VH1 placed "Toy Soldiers" at #67 of the 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 80s.

@B00613Man There is so much hope for you. You know what to do and I think you're determined to get this all behind you now. Go to court, get this over with, and when you get out you'll without a doubt have a new lease on life. Everything will be better for you.

You are a good person with so much potential. Stay strong and make your time count for something. Let your life count for something.

what can u tell me about jail? im a wanted fugitive. f ed up that it took going back to jail to clean myself.

If you're wanted you should turn yourself in. You'll never have much of a life until you do.

not too good. clean but it keeps calling. and ive lost all taste for life. im like whats the use.

@B00613Man You're clean! Congratulations!! You'll go through some depression as you come off the drugs but it won't last. One day at a time it gets better. Your taste for life will come back and it will come back even more than ever.

Take a walk in the park, go see a movie, or go visit some clean friends or family members.  It always helps.

I know you can do this! I know you can because you had the heart to admit you had a problem. Alot of addicts won't do that.

Be proud of yourself!

@StrengthMuscle2 i know what i got to do. ill go to my court date on dec 2nd. i dont know if that made me lose all taste for life. but thanks for all the encouragement you seem to to say the right thing each time. its gonna suck in jail but your right i know what to expect. im a good person trapped in an addicts body. i dont belong in jail but oh well.
