He's absolutely right. Laws exist to protect man, not to control man. And when laws are unjust, we need to make changes -- get involved, vote, petition, protest, write to your Congressman, write to your Senators, write to the newspapers, get involved in campaigns, investigate, and be a proactive citizen. No one individual is wise enough to run this country. It only works if we ALL contribute to the process.

And Johnnie didn't know whether or not OJ actually did it. A lawyer's not supposed to ask, he cannot say a man is innocent of a crime if he knows that to be untrue, that's perjury. And for all the bad he may have done by freeing OJ, he has defended some genuinely innocent people. He was a talented attorney, an intelligent man and a good example for Blacks and other underpriviledged people everywhere.

Clarence Darrow, best criminal lawyer of the 20th Century said "To be an effective criminal defense counsel, an attorney must be prepared to be demanding, outrageous, irreverant, blasphemous, a rogue, a renegade, and a hated, isolated lonely person. . . few love as spokesman for the despised and the damned." Cochran understood.

When you have a LAPD lead detective taking the fifth on the stand you have problems. John Cochram did his Job as a attorney for Simpson. It was never his job to convict OJ. You may not like the jury system, but it may be the best we can do. This has been like 16 years ago, looks like few people have any interest. Well, OJ is in jail now for a case that was really open and shut. People saying I saw him with a gun robing me. What a dummy he has to be.
