i want to become a marine biologist, but is it really worth it? i do want to study certain types of whales and travel all over the world to study various animals, not just marine but land animals as well..I certainly do not want to work at a dam museum after all that hard work and years of school..

I had interests in obtaining a degree in this field and applying it to studies in fish populations in accordance with commercial fishing, but after witnessing the means in which this data is obtained, usually by estimations which are used to impact fisherman negatively , i refrained from seeking a career in this field.

@Orcafanx0x , I'm an organismal biology/ecology major. I had to take two chemistry classes my freshman year. Generally you don't need more unless it's an elective or you major in biochemistry or molecular/cellular biology.

They make $40, 000-70, 000 a year, depending on their degree.
