Lange (1830-89) was a skilful German composer of salon music, and best known for his 'Blumenlied'. This piece, published in 1872) was dedicated to Fanny Schirmer, the daughter (?) of his American publisher, Gustavus Schirmer. It is marked Allegro non troppo, and I have interpreted it as a brisk march. It is prefaced by a poem, shown at the beginning of the video, but reproduced below - I have not been able to determine its origins, or whether it was originally in English or German:
"Along the leafy forest halls
A morning wind is playing
Clear sing the birds their joyful songs
The birches young are swaying.
As thus I stroll and every tree
Of the merry wood is ringing
When all resounds why should I be
The only thing not singing."
