@Ioannesmartialis Here's how it works....Someone makes a claim about the existence of something..... now it is up to them the provide a common sense explanation that can be backed by either evidence or demonstrating this existence. It is amazing that since the beginning of religion there has never been a single person capable of rising to the task. This makes the religious claims improbable and therefore not worthy of merit.

Even proving that all other possible explanations are false would not prove god exists. when will these theists grasp the idea? They have bought into a cult that prevents them from thinking for themselves

Is the inability to disprove something supposed to be impressive then? You can't disprove the invisible, intangible gremlin that follows me around. In what way does evolution PROVE god exists? For it to be a proof, you'd have to somehow demonstrate that all other possible explanations don't work. Or, don't use the word proof- cos it only belongs in mathematics.

First off, a lack of evidence does not prove anything false, only the existence of a proposition with evidence proving the contrary. An evidence only constitutes the best explanation and by itself is meaningless. Useful evidence is a part of the best explanation. Flat Earth Theory is not made false because of lack of evidence for it, but the presence of evidence against it. Even evolutionary theory proves God exists because of causation and is compatible with theism.

first off the statement that god is the best explanation that something exists is not evidence. As usual he just complicates the dialog to confuse people and strtch out his speech with rpetitions

@johnknoefler I know, online forums have definite disadvantages. That's fair. I also am confident in my beliefs and I can see how they help me and those who share them in practical ways which is important to me (not just 'feel-good' beliefs.) A PM would be fine if you wouldn't mind elucidating your beliefs in a bit more detail but if not, no problem and nice talking with you. I'm a concrete and masonry laborer so no fears of pseudo-intellectual scholarly criticism from me. ;)
