I've made my own Rotocaster inspired by yoursand I'm having problems with torque, and play issues in the second axis gear.
Any comments on how to fix these problems?
Thanks

my interior axis is locked by the cain. i assume gravity is what drives the interior axis but the sprockets lock it?
is that right? the chain doesn't drive the interior frame. I'm thinking the chain mandates the rotation of the interior axis. also you have a sprocket just above/between the two sprockets driving the chain. does this have a critical function or does it just reduce the slack by pushing on the chain? the chain doesn't seem to rotate in the video, but that sproket does. thank you.

i'm trying to replicate your machine in wood
but i have few issues/questions as i have no mechanical sensibilities. i'll post them quick.

Looks like that could be built quite cheaply.

Well guys thanks for looking and I'll see if I can't reply to a few of your comments. First off I wouldn't say it would be "cheap" to build one but you could definitely do it if you had access to a machine shop. A lot of my bearings and gears were cast offs from work. As for a step by step it would take way longer than I would care to film however I would be happy to answer any questions any one might have.
