I agree with your "cut away/cut towards" conclusion. I find it much easier to cut towards my thumb while holding a piece, but I also end up with tiny cuts in my thumb when using a new blade. I think I might cut it a little too close...

Nice video, some good tips, but i dont think its a good idea mentioning that cutting towards your hand can be safer than cutting away from it.

Remember some younger people are into making miniatures and might not have as good controll cutting towards their fingers as you do. Just a thought ;)
