Titan Missile Museum Thunderbolt 1003

Almost forgot I had this vid. Back in late 2010 I was contacted via E-mail by Chuck Penson, Historian of the Titan missile museum. He informed me that he had seen my video on the siren grave yard in Tucson and would like to invite a fellow siren enthusiast to come down and join them as they run their siren for the second time.

So on January 6'th (the day after my birthday :3 ) I Drove down and shot this vid. Sorry about the mic being overdriven, I probably should have stood further back. If I remember correctly this is only the second time the siren has been run in 10+ years.

After the test I got to go on a tour of the facility. I highly recommend giving this place a visit. Years of history lies beneath the earth in almost pristine condition. This place is absolutely fascinating. So if anyone is thinking of visiting, do so, and say hi to chuck for me.

@garyhstorms10 nope, as crazy stated its a museum, no plans to take it down. They were doing maintenance on it when I arrived. They plan to keep it in working order as long as they can.

This is actually a 1003, not a 1000T. Same thing for the most part, only it has the "bow-tie" solenoid bar behind the horn to perform the high-low signal. Awesome capture, was wondering if this thing still works!

Sounds like it's 3 phase, possibly running on chopper level 6 at 208V. All they need to do is to get a time delay and possibly a relay for the motor starter for the blower, so they won't have to start it manually every time. Otherwise, it sounds as good as new.
