To win her swaying vote in favor of Obama's healthcare bill; they included a provision of $300 million bonus to her district.

Coolidge in my opinion was the last "good" president.

But there has never been a president who didn't do something amazingly dumb. Even Jefferson, with his secret taxes and illegal wars and tariffs.

Reagan promised to abolish the department of education and energy, and he doubled them to 22.7 billion.

Social Security spending rose from $179 billion in 1981 to $269 billion in 1986

Medicare spending in 1981 was $43.5 billion; in 1987 it went to $80 billion.

Federal entitlements cost $197.1 billion in 1981—and $477 billion in 1987.

Also, Reagan had the largest tax increase in American history (I didn't even know this). Reagan ended up having a 250 billion deficit.

What are you talking about? What are these History texts you are talking about? You mean statitical studies? Actual facts? Reagan had a good stance on government. But was NOT a good president. And he definitely was NOT a fiscal conervative.

I'm no liberal pal. After his tax cuts, he realized that tax cuts were quite useless if you don't cut government spending as well. He then signed in very large tax hikes. The national debt never decreased ONCE under him. Sorry, Reagan was not a good president.He spoke perfectly on the size of government. Yet, he was a do as I say, not as I do character.

He started the Drug war. He implemented Gun control laws. There was no such thing as prosperity under Reagan. It's all a myth. Just like clinton
