That is what is called maturity. When maturity happens deep friendliness we have towards the spouse replaces the need for the lust. This is when we enter into the next phase of life - Vanaprastha. My Swami influenced logic tells me that it is also possible to "unclutch" from the pain shaft of marriage, while still continue with the marriage. Eh? I guess it just needs effort from both sides to work out properly to liberate from surrounding conditioning and internal struggles to achieve "deep friendliness" together in a relationship, as we just heard. I even began to doubt the following songs authenticity: "friendship causes pain- I am a rock" Simon&Garfunkel.
