For a VERY select crowd. :-D If you want to make and play a LEFT-handed guitar, this is for you. I am sorry about the sound quality, the built-in mic is not very good, and the tempo is S-L-O-W, but it will be over before you know it.
Cotten picking derives its name from Elizabeth Cotten (not Cotton). It is a term attributed to left-handed guitar pickers playing a normally strung (right-handed) guitar, and as in this video, the opposite.
So I am right-handed, and I am attempting to play a LH guitar after a week of rehearsal. My purpose was to get into the mind of Elizabeth Cotten (a.o.). This video is a side product. The main messages that I want to get across are:
- How to reverse a (Spanish) guitar.
- It's not harder to play it upside down if you dedicate the same amount of years to it.
- A left-handed beginner can safely pick up a RH guitar and see how it feels.
- Repeat: if you dedicate the same amount of years....
- Reverse chord diagrams in your head, it's easy.
- Reggae solo guitarists might have an advantage with Cotten picking?
@Agust1337 - Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, it's longish, and has some irrelevant stuff in it, depending on what you are interested. I figured if anyone plans to spend hours on reversing a RH guitar to LH one, they would also have 14:28 min to spare on this video. I suppose I could pick the key points as to "how" and compile a pixie version. I might do that, but no promise.

Hey, nice tutorial. But I recommend less talking about stuff that doesn't really matter, just get to the point, and it would be a perfect tutorial. If you found this offending I'm sorry, but I'm just giving you an advice. Again, nice tutorial :)
