@JakeRyan1968 Your right Jake but I came close..My.best friend killed in Nam,I was permanently disabled on route to duty station, was on a Surgical team that operated on VN wounded vets jet vacued bk to the states for critical care.I was a Veteran Rep for 25 years[ now Retired] helping vets of all wars addressing all of their needs to again become gainfully employable. My younger brother was 100 percent disabled in Iraq. Hope all is well with you.I am a Vet advocate forever. Peace ! Dana
Bob Dylan called Smokey the greates poet of our time. I figure he hadn't heard of Walter yet. The lyrics to Magnet and Steel are sooooo simple but soooooo powerful and the rhythm touches deep into one's soul. Write someting new Walter, the world sure could use it.
I believed Walter recorded this in LA with Lindsay Buckingham producing and Stevie Nix singing back up vocals on the studio mix. They were good friends.I would like to have seen Walter have more hits as I did like his vocal style.I used to play trumpet, coronet and baritone and have a preference for BST, Chicago and other groups who employ a brass section.
@shamgarable But... big bill.....Never inhaled !.....and... didn't have sex with that woman ! I too had a hippie pad at Illinois State Univ. that same year.! then graduation...then Greetings..you are hear by ordered to report....then Combat Corpsman/ OR Tech....goodbye innocence hello Gore...and it wasn't Al... In this video, Walter Egan reminds me of the sorcerer guy at the beginning of the Ghoulies. :-) Awesome song though with Stevie NIcks at the chorus.

@dbrinkm1 : combat Corpsman in peace time is a lot different from CC in combat. Glad you missed it. I didn't.
