Historic Huguenot Street in New Paltz, NY offers an opportunity to visit a chapter of American History, including the earliest years.
There are a number of historic homes on the street, with scheduled guided tours that provide entrance to the homes and church and insights into the lives and times of those who settled in this area in the 17th century. The gift shop in the museum's visitor center (DuBois Fort ) is a good starting and ending point.
This film clip contains partial tour highlights (July 25, 2010).
