A life for a life is just punishment for a person who cruelly and shamelessly lives at the cost of another's life. Political morality is to punish a person by a death sentence in order to save a cruel person from going to hell. That a murderer is condemned to a death sentence by the state is good for the culprit because in his next life he will not have to suffer for his act of murder. Such a death sentence for the murderer is the lowest possible punishment offered to him, and it is said in the smrti-sastras that men who are punished by the king on the principle of a life for a life are purified of all their sins, so much so that they may be eligible for being promoted to the planets of heaven. According to Manu, the great author of civic codes and religious principles, even the killer of an animal is to be considered a murderer because animal food is never meant for the civilized man, whose prime duty is to prepare himself for going back to Godhead. He says that in the act of killing an animal, there is a regular conspiracy by the party of sinners, and all of them are liable to be punished as murderers exactly like a party of conspirators who kill a human being combinedly. He who gives permission, he who kills the animal, he who sells the slaughtered animal, he who cooks the animal, he who administers distribution of the foodstuff, and at last he who eats such cooked animal food are all murderers, and all of them are liable to be punished by the laws of nature. No one can create a living being despite all advancement of material science, and therefore no one has the right to kill a living being by one's independent whims. For the animal-eaters, the scriptures have sanctioned restricted animal sacrifices only, and such sanctions are there just to restrict the opening of slaughterhouses and not to encourage animal-killing. The procedure under which animal sacrifice is allowed in the scriptures is good both for the animal sacrificed and the animal-eaters. It is good for the animal in the sense that the sacrificed animal is at once promoted to the human form of life after being sacrificed at the altar, and the animal-eater is saved from grosser types of sins (eating meats supplied by organized slaughterhouses which are ghastly places for breeding all kinds of material afflictions to society, country and the people in general). The material world is itself a place always full of anxieties, and by encouraging animal slaughter the whole atmosphere becomes polluted more and more by war, pestilence, famine and many other unwanted calamities.

videos like this dont help preaching, they just create confusion in normal people about Hare Krishna in general, responding with rejecting the whole of the various Hare Krishna movements, by seeing them all the same way. For those folks, the terms poison and videos like this, makes all of us to put it mildly look very "strange" People you want to avoid. This type of video achieves absolutely nothing for those who already know about these things and even less for those who dont, true or not.

Paranoyed? why is it that my respose is seen by you as defending anything exept preaching?read what i wrote again,I am not defending anyone,so dont even try putting that trip on me.When I preach KC many people immidiately refer to the bad things they have heard which immideately turned them of from further inquiry and thats bad, I believe that giving KC first and correcting and explaining things later, is a much better approach then the gross elephant in the porcellaine house philosophy.

Forgive me prabhu, but it really disturbs me that when I put up a video with Prabhupada's images, Prabhupada's music, and Prabhupada's words it's labeled as not preaching.The video is clearly labeled NO COCKROACHES ALLOWED. I don't know what more I can do.

iskcon can not heal, because the guru system is completely bogus and people continue getting cheated by gurus which later fall down,which is horrible,but then the ritvik idea is also a-sampradaya.The institution iskcon can not be saved, its well beyond that. The real Iskcon is within the hearts of the devotees and the pure devotee, whom we have to seek out and there is always a pure devotee on the planet

I think this video/letter is very educational to sincere devotees of Krishna in ISKCON. Prabhupada is giving the formula to be untouched by any impurities that may occur -- remain a vigilent devotee and these things will not disturb you or check your progress in Krishna consciousness. This advice rings true all the way up to the present day. The present day I write this is Dec. 1 2011.

Oh dear. It's sad to think that ISKCON was already fracturing and splintering even while Srila Prabhupada was still living. From what I've read on the subject, the founder did everything he could think of to keep the Hare Krishna movement united and focused on its mission.

Ritvik is NOT an Idea it was an instruction/Order. Simply search 9 July, 1977 Letter from Srila Prabhupada.

Prabhupada made it clear to all disciples of Iskcon that ONLY ON HIS ORDER can one become Diksha Guru.

No one was ordered HENCEFORWARD Ritvik. The order of the Acharya is the active principle of Spiritual life. It over rules all prior traditions so your words are NOT Bona Fide. The institution does not need saved it is us the envious Jivas. AGTSP

And Jesus said: John 8:31 - “IF you ABIDE in my word, you are TRULY my disciples.” John 7:38 - “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." LUKE 12:2 - "… and all that is secret will be made known." JESUS came to me 5 times so far, I read and asked for the HOLY SPIRIT four weeks and one morning, heaven was within me... and living water poured out through me and all things made known. P
