This is not composed to the "Barber", but does also appear in "Torvaldo e Dorliska" from 1815. I wonder if it not also is sung in "La Gazzetta". A typical example of Rossini's "recirculation" of music...

Coloraturafan- is this lifted from another Rossini opera? If so, which one if you know? I know it was common for composers to write arias for specific singers who liked to insert them in operas

I'm pretty sure that Sills sang this aria on her complete recording of Barbiere. Not sure if she sang it when she performed the opera on PBS.
