@LuneeBen No, this is an effect upon males that have gone through andropause (male menopause you could say). Their hormonal levels make them more effeminate... and thus finding young boys attractive. The last prophet made it clear to his followers that a woman has one devil, beardless youth have 17. Devil of temptation. It's well older than the catholic church. It's a human condition affecting all males over a certain age.

I think the main cause of these problems between pedophile priests is that they are not allowed to have a woman in their lives that they can go home to every night. I think this isolation really gets to them and as a result they go and hurt the innocents who should be able to look up to them for godly wisdom and direction. The Protestant Reformation created new churches which had teachings that replaced some of those of the Catholic churches' which were considered outdated and irrelevant.
