READ FIRST BEFORE COMMENTING!

This is a 2000 mustang gt 4.6 SOHC
the whining noise in the video is the alternator its very loud
The ticking im unsure of and need help diagnosing
this ticking has been going on for about 6 monthes now
you CAN NOT hear it at idle, or sometimes just barly, if you BARLEY press the gas it really starts ticking fast and then slows down once you hit the gas and then starts to go faster the more you tach it up.
I have changed everything for the timing for this car and that didnt help it, it keeps its oil pressure throughout and is deffintly not knocking hard so i dont think its rod knock. I have noticed that the car bogs down extremly bad and even stalls sometimes at high rpms , but other times it dosent do it.
if someone could please help me out, i would appreciate it alot thanks

  • Exhaust leak... Check your exhaust for leaks :)

  • my stang is making the same ticking noice, and at the same times as the ones you described in the description... did you find out what was wrong, i would like to know so i could fix mine

    thanks

  • Did you check the air pressure in the tires?

  • yea, i was gonna say it was the lifters, if not, something in the valve train... my mustang has the same noise. thats good that you bought a new motor. but yea since it has a lot of mileage, it was bound to happen. considering its a gt and you have to floor every once in a while.

  • @guyd37 Did you not read the comments by the owner above? He said it himself, and the main reason he replaced the motor is that he wanted to supercharge it so he got a new motor. lol damn you are dense!

  • @rextuner03 You trully are a retard. I drive a fucking 4.6 Mustang. They are single overhead cam, and don't have lifters unlike the old pushrod 5.0. They have valve lash adjusters and this is not what was causing the noise in this video as the clearance is minimal. He changed the motor for a reason, It was done!

  • @guyd37 Wrong again dumb fuck it's a lifter like the owner of the car said. Damn you are fucking dumb.

  • Sounds like rod bearing knock.

  • it might be your fuel injector (one of them) this happned to me and i was thinking of the worst just like everyone else but i changed my juel injector (the bad one) and hte noise whent away. hope that this helps!

  • sounds like a rod or piston both my damn cobra's have had the same problem. Speaking of which I'm selling my 98 Cobra convertible its knocking and its either a piston or rod.
