@pedrohash831 You would have to use implicit differentiation to isolate x or y depending on what you want.

what if you dont have constraints how would you find max or min for example the function is as follows:
f(x,y)=xye^((-x^2)-(y^2))
with no constraints following your video I can only get a min and it is wrong from that of the solutions manual
