This is a short film I put together after being inspired by the concept of love in Islam. I have written a brief commentary on the Nasheed "love & Life" by saeed Ahmed. I feel it is important that the young people know that Islam is not out of touch with the feelings of human beings today, rather it completely satisfies them in every way possible. Once you come to the Deen you will feel such satisfaction and love in your heart, that loving will be easy and so natural. So I ask Allah the most high to give us all the Tawfeeq to open our hearts to this deen insha' allah.

This nasheed touches on how beautiful it is when you accept the Deen and leave all fear and misconceptions behind. "Islam invites us to all that is good" and prevents us from going down paths that can "lead to harm". All praise and glory be to Allah and Peace and blessing be on his prophet the best of all creation. Islam is not just "This is prohibited: that is forbidden" It is so much more and so much fun! Being genuinely happy and doing things for your own pleasure that are pleasing to your lord can give new meaning to the word "Reward" and "fulfilment". If you live from the heart what can be better? "Islam is beautiful", if you submit to it wholeheartedly you will see every relationship you have change for the better. You will see people love you and you love them for the sake of Allah. "Islam is peace within us that grows love for people" You will feel happier, more content and you will want to be better and better as a human striving for the ultimate reward.

this societies twisted view on love and falling completely in love with someone before you marry them is in its very foundation flawed. By not being in a firm marriage contract recognised in the eyes of Allah, all love that develops between a man and a woman is on shaky ground. You are open to being rejected, abused and exploited by your opposite number. Evil Intentions and feelings can creep in and those can be fuelled by this duniya leaving one exposed to the shaytaans whispers and your instinctive desire. By exposing yourself to the Haraam and Evil that comes hand in hand with a "Hollywood romance", you leave your heart open to becoming black and being turned upside down. Once that happens shaytaan controls you and you will love and live whatever your heart wishes.
"...If you are righteous, then do not speak too softly, lest one in whose heart is a disease will move with desire; you shall speak in an honourable manner." [Qur'an 33:32]
Arousing feelings for people by chatting with those who are not allowed for you is dangerous it can cause a disease of desire, adultery, fornication, jealousy etc (May Allah protect us from).
What the Mujahid describes in his letter is the purest form of love there is. Loving someone purely for the sake of Allah is so beautiful. It extends from this life into the next, an eternal bond that is unconditional. You will never lose because Allah is Al-Wadud( the most loving) all praise and glory be to him. I want to love like he loved and I want to feel what he felt because his love was so true and pure. The mutual love they both shared for Allah was amazing and the bonds developed between them through him were unshakable.
"And among His signs are that He created for you from your selves mates that you may attain calm unto them and He placed between you affection and compassion. Surely in that are signs for people who reflect." [Qur'an 30:21]
I feel like romantic love in Islam is like a flower that grows inside a successful marriage. The seeds are planted and nurtured by the love and fear of Allah. You see the seed grow into a beautiful flower which is pleasing to the eye, the touch and the scent attracts beautiful butterflies into your abdomen. The difference is the seeds are from Allah the rain is from Allah the light that is from Allah and the sustenance is from Allah. So isn't it more fitting to love Allah the giver of the flower? The flower will eventually die but Allah will remain. The Mujahid and his wife understood this with perfect clarity. That is why he made the ultimate sacrifice. Whole heartedly ready to give up everything for his lord. The Mujahid also knew although it was the most difficult thing in the world, it would benefit his family more than anything else he could ever do for them. Glory be to ALLAH!!!
