OLDSMOBILE STATION WAGON TRIBUTE. NOT ALL OLDS WAGONS ARE REPRESENTED DUE TO THE LACK OF AVAILABILITY OF SOME YEARS AND MODELS. OTHERS OMMISIONS STEM FROM THE LACK OF OLDSMOBILE POWERED ENGINES. 61-62 F-85 USED A BUICK 215 V-8, MANY 78-82 CUTLASS CRUISERS USED A STANDARD 260 OLDS V8 BUT THE 305 CHEVY V8 WAS OPTIONAL, AND THE 91-92 CUSTOM CRUISERS ARE CHEVY POWERED COOKIE CUTTER BUICK ROADMASTER CHEVY CAPRICES AS IF MOST 77 AND LATER GM CARS ARENT COOKIE CUTTER CLONES ENOUGH. I WANTED THE CLOSING SHOT TO BE THE 1990 CUSTOM CRUISER. LAST OLDS V-8, LAST CARBUERATED GM ENGINE. THE OLDS V8 HAD COME FULL CIRCLE FROM THE FIRST OVERHEAD VALVE V8 IN 1949 WITH 303 CUBIC INCHES AND 135 HP TO THE LAST CARBUERATED GM
V8 WITH 307 CUBIC INCHES AND 140 HP.

  • wonder if oldsmobile ever made a 2 door wagon ,grandpa had a 2 door 59 chevy wagon a 6 with 3 on the tree.I've owned 6 oldsmobiles and loved every one.Worked at an Olds dealer for 25 years till they GM flushed them. Great video and music

  • @tomwendel1957 Olds choose to go with a 4door hardtop pillarless wagon that Buick soon followed with. No 2 door Olds wagons. I think Olds made the first pillarless 4 door hardtop sedan in 1955. GM had the pillarless sedans until 1976.

  • Don't see many of the 58-66 wagons in

upper ny, all the scrap yards have most,

the 80 -90 group are still kicking around

but their daily driver status is few and far

between. Seen a couple pre 80's hiding

out in back lots of local car shows.

  • You dont see them down south either. Production numbers on those weren't overwhelming to begin with.

  • Hey at 6:30 seconds what year and model was that experimental Olds called?

  • 70 Vista Cruiser. Im not sure what was experimental about it as it was mass produced. They just have the wrong front side marker lenses in the front fenders. You sure you mean 6:30 ?

  • Thanks for sharing this, really great video and cars!

  • Nice wagon VID man!

    Clark Griswold

  • Gorgeous machines. A million X classier and better styling than mini-vans and SUVs.

  • theres a guy in calgary who owns the first one ever built... i was reading about it in the news paper... pretty cool

  • Am I seeing this right? It looks like the late 50's wagons used the same rear doors, window frames and glass as a regular 4-door vehicle, which I imagine would keep the cost down. But it looks like the early 60's version have a squared-up rear window and frame. Is that true?

  • not 1 clamshell!!

  • A friend had a 76 Olds 98 Experimental. It had a driver's side airbag. He says it was only one of a few made. Its still sitting in the back 40 barn unseen by daylight in 25 years.
