CBS made him sound like TOM JONES on purpose.

He was uder contract for 3 records with CBS.

His style...... their editing and presentation.

After those records, his style was under his control totally.

does anyone know if this is really plant. sounds like his pre zeppelin music. he even uses some of plant's trademark techniques and stuff. iam just not sure, i dont get how his voice would be deeper earlier in life, that makes no sense. anyone know if this is truely him?

@337camo i dont wanna rub it in but i got to see zeppelin opening night at madison sq garden in june of '77, i was 16 and i paid $6 to see it, i had a first date with a hot chick, we got to our nosebleed seats and i said lets sneak down, she said no and i said SEE YA!!! I snuck all the way down right in front of jimmy page!!! it was the greatest concert of my life! i stood there with my mouth open in awe, that chick never talked to me again, but i didnt care, it was the show of a lifetime!!!

@337camo go on youtube n check out the firm, listen to radioactive and satisfaction guaranteed, and closer, the band was page on guitar and paul rogers from bad company singing, page also did a good album with david coverdale from whitesnake called coverdale page, check it out too, theres a a few good songs, shake my tree n pride n joy, very zeppelinish!!!

@jroxx11211 i'd love to see any of the zeppelin guys apart of any band. i never heard of the firm but i saw jimmy with the black crowes on youtube...it was nice. a new zep tour would definately sell out...no matter what country, day, or time!

@337camo i guess i was lucky that night, i sure wish they'd tour again, i also saw jimmy with the firm, with the black crowes and i saw plant's solo tours 3 times, theres no music ever made as good as zeppelin, the firm was all original firm music, but the black crowes show, they did 3 crowes songs, then all zeppelin, plants first show was all original, but the next 2, he did alot of zeppelin, they would definitely sell out all over the world if they did tour, who knows????
