Brisca F1 Stock Car World Championship 2009. Frankie Wainman Jnr leads the pack from Pole Position, with defending World Champion Andy Smith starting alongside. After briefly keeping Smith high and wide, Wainman Jnr gets abit out of shape, giving Smith a chance to break free. Wainman Jnr then starts to loose ground and slips down the order. Stu Smith Jnr came through into second, and looked like he was going to take the challenge to elder brother Andy. However, Smith Jnr's charge was brought to a swift halt after tangling with backmarker 502 Ricky Wilson, which saw both spin onto the infield... Smith having a clear track went on to claim his 4th World Title, with Wainman Jnr fighting back to take the runner-up spot. Paul Harrison looked to have a fairly incident free race to claim third, Mark Gilbank an excellent 4th from his Row8 start, and Craig Finnikin rounding out the top 5. Smith celebrates his win a with a few doughnuts, and to prove World Champions do makes mistakes now and again, promptly punts himself into the armaco...

Although held at Kings Lynn Stadium, the event was Promoted by Buxton Raceway.

  • witch song is that on the begin the tune?

  • @kassieboy11 Fanfare for the Common Man by Emerson Lake and Palmer.

  • Great video Brisca fan I have liked this sport since the 1970's and the only way I see it now is on you tube. I moved to canada in 1978 and lost touch with the sport until a couple of years ago and starting watching online again

For that I am very greatful to you and everyone else that films the races for us ex-pats overseas I appreciate it very much. This years final started out pretty good with Frankie giving smithy a good run but as it turned smithy was a little to fast and won..

  • Glad you enjoyed the video and the race. Quite a handy thing this YouTube !

  • hey pretty good stuff there, be interesting to know why the NZ built car (Lintern Built) never made it, (on you tube under "New Zealand F1 Stock Car test run Stratford"), although Roydon Collingwood (who has run in the F1 world finals before) had a bit of an off in his NZ spec car and needed surgery), could be wy or maybe the cost was a bit off putting due to the worldwide recession, anyway be great to see FWJ and co back down here in a few months time for our season

  • I think Roydon Collingwood's injury earlier in the season pretty much ruled him out for the World Final over here . I believe the car was only ever going to be driven Collingwood, as he had some sort of financial involvement in the car, therefore it would not be offered to another driver. Don't quote me on that though, i'm not 100% sure. Maybe it will come over next year. Hope so, sure would be nice to see it in action.

  • YEAAHHHH!!!!!

  • I really wanna go to the world final soon as possible! :)

When the green flag comes for the start of the world final: it's just an amazing feeling!! :D

  • @BriscaStockcars No where near that much. My dad built the Smith engines for years (from about 1999 onwards) - you'd be suprise at how little they cost, and what budget they are built on!
