if my cube (actually megaminx) is already quite slow then how will i turn it with the silicon... isn't there a chance it will be nearly impossible to turn?

There really is no difference in how to the cube acts using either the method you explained, or the one I used here. I have tried both, and there was no noticeable difference.

Well... If you put too much, at first it will be a little hard to turn, but that happens every time. Just keep turning it until it is smooth.

Those are all of the place I would suggest. Maybe try Walmart too. You could also ask somebody that works at one of those places where there have silicone lubricant aerosol.
