Africa Ebrahim RnB REMIX 2011 - BRAND NEW

I just had to do a remix of Ebrahim`s song `Africa´.
It was SCREAMING at me: I need some Roots-style drumsounds,
a Jazz Guitar player, a tenor sax player, a Wurlizer player and a Bass player.

Ebrahim is an awesome singer and I hope he likes it.
The song is dedicated to all Pakistanis and their struggle.


The Wurlizer A200 sound that you hear in the right speaker is a very rare sound sampled by Christian Frenzen, a German Jazzpiano player.
There are many Wurlizer Samples out there but none of them has that unique, intimate sound of Christian Frenzen`s.

For the nerd section:
drumsounds are sampled from old roots-records
jazz guitar is heavily tweaked for warm mid- and low-frequiencies
as is actually the whole mix since I wanted to maintain the very
intimate sound of the original recording - which was already very
good and fat.
the time sync was a bit of a fiddling thing since they probably recorded
whitout a click (which makes sense if you want free-moving music
that sounds more lively than "patterned" music).
