NOTE: Here's a charming frou-frou chansonette from Paris of Les Années Folles, sung by Mistinguett in person. Before Edith Piaf era, she was probably the most famous and most popular French singer in the international scale. Ofcourse, her talent and her genre -compared with enormous artistic scale of Piaf - was very limited solely to the "French" characters - temperamental metropolitan gal with a sense of humour, sex-appeal, a lot of a pure Parisian charme and a big city nerve. Her records sold in millions, she was a true queen of a French cabaret of the 1920s and smoothly she took also the leading role on stage when came the era of the gala music-hall of the 1930s and 40s.

@RRS1980PL dziękuję za zabawną anegdotę, choć wygląda na to, że Jarossy nie wykazał się zbytnim taktem. Ale z drugiej strony , jeśli dobrze pamiętam Jurandota - to Mistinguett przywiozła na występy do Warszawy jakiś drugi garnitur strojów, więc poniekąd sama się o to prosiła

Gdy Mistinguett przyjechała do Warszawy po premierze odbył się uroczysty oficjalny bankiet. W pewnej chwili wstał Fryderyk Jarosy i piękną francuszczyzną zwrócił się do niej, aby mu zechciała wybaczyć, że właściwe przemówienie wygłosi po polsku, bo w tym języku będzie mu łatwiej wyrazić swe uczucia. "Panowie! Czym wy się właściwie tak zachwycacie? Przecież ona nie jest warta małego palca naszej Ordonki czy Pogorzelskiej!" Mistinguett była wzruszona i gorąco klaskała... (cytowałem za Jurandotem)
