  • Time proved that Darwin was right and the his ideas are not compatible with religion.

  • According to whom? We've developed this moral and spiritual society as a mechanism of survival. It's in our best interest, just as is eating the male after sex for the praying mantis.

  • @deliwrek what? so i guess cuting the penises of babys is good. you think supperstition cant come about? and that its not harmfull? allso morality is not same as religion. and spirituatly does not neccesarily eaqule religion. secular morality and spirituality have a name. they are philosophy. they allso dont jump to conclusions like religion. allso humans have tail bones. does that mean its good? no its an barf of evolution. bechose evolution is flawed we have religion.

  • To say that god cannot play a role in evolution of thousands, even millions of species, makes me wonder if we have even evolved at all. To blindly follow religion is one thing but to rid yourself of any higher cognitive power that would allow for an explanation that involves both views is ridiculous. Think outside the box. Interweaving religion and evolution, or science as a whole, is very possible and it's terrible that we are too narrow minded to think otherwise.

  • People like Darwin and his supporters make one proud to be human.

  • Well, Darwin's idea has been improved upon several times for 150 years now, 2000 years ago, God decided to influence some people to write his teachings? When God chooses to write a sequel and be a little more clear, and stop contradicting himself every other page, I'd be more inclined to follow "His" ideas.

Well it depends on which God you mean. Obviously science isn't compatable with any God which is well-defined enough as to be disprovable.

  • Darwins ideas are perfectly compatible with god. anyone who cannot see this is ignorant, and is blind to the truth of religion. Even Einstein knew that science without religion goes nowhere.

  • If the religionists had their way, I have no doubt that all Darwinists and the esteemed scientists who propound this greatest of al theories, and thus have given us the gifts of scientific application stemming from it, would be hanging at the ends of nooses, and burning at the stake.

I can only hope these religious zealots never manage again to take power in the West, and that all religious authority that does still exist in the world, dies a very abrupt, and much welcome, death.

  • Who would have thought 150 years later and the Pope agrees with him

Not all delusions are negative or harmful. Take belief in Father Christmas for example.

However - all delusions are either false; or held on poor evidence.

I'm interested in anything tangible you could present me from any spiritual source - but so far i've not encountered a single "spiritual" thing which hasn't simply been some other experience cloaked in man-made superstition / myth / religion.
