Minecraft I have a clock

TRULY BRILLIANT.
"And that is the purpose of THE COMBOBULATOR!!"

@vikihott I never know what to build in my bases, so this gives me one more thing to build. Plus, the redstone torch on the clock can deliver a pulse behind the clock twice a day. So, if I wanted to start making use of the clock I could wire it up to raise or lower drawbridges at night time. Just basically it's something that I decided to build. :)

Ok, i honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong, can you please just make a little more, in-depth tutorial?
-
Could be cool for an adventure map with things for night and day "Come back at day!"
-
Whats the settings of the redstone repeaters on the actual clock itself.
The bottom left (looking at the face of the clock), is 4.
Top Right is 4 I think.
Bottom right is just redstone
And top left is just redstone?

you mister, are my hero

Maybe make a step-by-step tutorial on this? I want to make a clock tower outside of my town, but I need to know how to build it EXACTLY, so I can fit everything underground.

very cool, dude

What (If any) mods does this use? O.o

@Nolgthorn I've been thinking about the problem and here is my solution. The only way to make that work would be if you had a block that could detect light, which would power redstone. Of course then you'd have to figure out a way to compensate for rain, but it's still a start. But I think that better than wolves mod has a light detecting block, and some blocks which don't operate under rain conditions, so you should check it out.
I wished we had light sensors ... that would allow an automatic reset ( triggered by daylight ) if you slept.

@erikfinnegan Well I would still have to design the reset mechanism even if there was light sensors. Please feel free to have a try.

I challenge you to make a minecraft clock which doesn't reset when you turn off the map. In otherwords if you leave the area or the server restarts, the machine would have a backup system to remember what time it was, then restart the signal at that point.
Johnmorrisbeck 7 months ago
@Johnmorrisbeck The problem is that the time wouldn't be accurate. For instance when you go to sleep and wake up, the clock would still be running at the time you went to sleep at. There should probably be a reset button next to your bed so that when you wake up you can press the button and the clock would reorient itself.

How much did you know about redstone before this? You mention the minecraft wiki a bunch. Is this to point us viewers in the right direction, or did you just learn about basic circuits and figure this whole thing out from the wiki? Either way this is an extremely clever and well put together mechanism
Bobthemightyone 7 months ago
@Bobthemightyone I learned about circuits for the first time, while playing minecraft and reading the wiki page. Anyone can do it, so I suppose I was trying to point people there. Designing a mechanism using redstone always makes whatever you create easier to understand to yourself than to the next person who comes along and looks at it.
