Am I missing something or is the thread feature completely worthless in Inventor!!
I can't believe this feature simply draws a thread.. What is the point?! When creating a 3D step or iges file, the thread is gone.
Of course we can use the coil function with a UNC or UNF template for extruding, but I still can't understand why inventor does not support such a basic feature.
I would try the spiral command to cut a thread into the hole or the shaft you want to thread. It's a bit more complicated but you should be able to figure it out. But you're going to have to create a new work plane in order to do so. Good luck.
I tried it this way but when converting to an .STL or .STP file, these threads vanish. I read some place that threads need to be "modeled" to have them saved in those formats. Any suggestion how to do that?

Thanks Bro. Question, how do you correct Over Define sketch? Do you have to delete the sketch and re-draw it?
