Interview at the 2008 Audioholics Expo with founder Chris Kyriakakis on Audyssey Labs' new Dynamic Volume DSP which works with MultEQ to allow consumers to listen to multi-channel surround sound audio at lower volumes while still preserving the integrity of the mix.
Very cool. I see all these new features in receivers and wondered if it really was something special that I would like or not... I like what you are doing. Very interesting. I write and record music and make sounds for the BOSS GT-10 guitar effects processor. You guys have a pretty fun job... working with sound.

For me DynamicEQ is usable for Movies and TV. But DnymicVolume is not sensible. I don't se the difference to "night-modes" from AVs.

I'm not too impress with the audssey. The idea is very innovative, but seems to put my speakers to about 75db. It quiets my center speaker and my subwoofer. I had to turn down the sub and turn off the crossover (low pass filter on my sub so the mic can read or else it will be too loud and it wont calibrate it. The timing seems to be accurate, but just really quiets my speakers down alot.

Audyssey can make any home theater sound great. If you haven't heard a demonstration of Audyssey MultEQ, Dynamic EQ, or Dynamic Volume, DO IT!!
