Throw Down Your Heart chronicles banjo virtuoso and 18 time Grammy award winner Béla Fleck's musical journey to Africa (Uganda, Tanzania, The Gambia, and Mali) and provides a glimpse of the beauty and complexity of African music. Using his banjo, Béla transcends barriers of language and culture, finding common ground and forging connections with musicians from very different backgrounds.

  • I was thinking the exact same thing my friend.

  • haha! RAD show in junction.... i just feel the band deserved us to boogy for them.... they delivered such great energy and appreciation for the music and i feel for us as well. I enjoyed being in their presence.

  • I saw Anania with Béla Fleck last night. What a great show!

  • He mentions on the video that he plays MARIMBA......

  • Ah, that's so sweet! Just a note, the Tanzanian thumb piano he plays is called the Ilimba (as opposed to Kalimba). It's strange it's not mentioned in this film. Hmmm.

  • Thank you so much for this!
