nice bike but unreliable...too many issues with the transmision reported by users on forums.. and aprilia dont dont do shit to adress the problem......NOT GOOD !!!

@Carfagno2223 Its like driving a tiptronic car. It has automatic and manual mode, in manual mode you shift gears yourself by pressing the peddle shifters, it will bounce off rev limiter if you don't shift it in manual. IMO its retarded that more bikes don't have this. At least consumers should be given a choice. Now even the most hardcore sport cars come in auto. Ferrari doesnt even offer manual anymore.

12000 mile service costs £800. JESUS

I'm in the process of getting one, Im so happy that someone has finally made an "affordable" automatic! I think once more ppl find out about this bike, sales will go up. Certainly for women riders and city life. Props Aprilia!!

Formula one, according to Wikipedia outlawed cvts because they are too fast. Once a scooter (cvt) starts breaking records on the track, more people will accept it. I like this bike and may buy one tomorrow.

Why can't they make one with more hp? Would be PERFECT! They should put this gear changing system in the Tuono v4r! ^_^

tried it and loved it...i'm fed up with the fricking clutch especially for city riding which i do for like 80% of the time anyway...*press* *release* *press* *release* *press* *release* your balls and wrists are starting to turn into moose, this thing is very fuel economical and it dosent feel like you're traveling seating on a toilet, its a bike..the best of both worlds ;)

@Carfagno2223 It uses a CVT, or Constantly Variable Transmission. It doesn't shift, it just constantly changes it's gear ratio to keep you in the power band based on how far you twist the accelerator. It's like the transmissions that are used in scooters and snowmobiles. Very very nice :D

From what I understand it's about 45 mpg

i dont see any problem with having an automatic bike, i prefer it. been riding for 15 years and i always wished for my bikes to be auto. screw shifting if you dont have to...now, for sports cars that a different story. but for a bike, who gives a crap. all of you people trying to act tough because you shift gears, get real.
