Being a Canucks fan, I am not a Messier fan, but it doesn't look like he was trying to start stuff here. Blake was trying to be the 3rd man in and Messier just tried to get him out of that since fights should be one on one.

Moulson was a fluke - a ninth rounder, dead in the eyes of the league, so the Isles jumped on cheap help...and he ended up being a really good player. It rarely happens that way. They're retaining their talented youth so the team remains sellable, but will never sign the talent it takes to be competitive. Tavares and Co have a few years before they become UFA. Wang figures this is the window. He has no choice.

I just know how the Islanders operate - when they try to make a move, they fail miserably (even getting Alexei Yashin in his prime ends up being a bad move), or they make knee-jerk, reactionary trades - not unlike Esposito when he ran the Rangers. That's really what I hate about them - it's not fans like you...
