Tortoise (a protagonist in Nigerian folktales) seeks to be the wisest person in the world.
He soon realises that no one can be the wisest.

  • @boinsomeness: You are right about that... in my little research, I have noticed that West African folktales are similar... but their protagonists do change... for example in Yoruba culture, it is the tortoise, in Ghana or the Carribean, it is Anansi the spider, in Central Africa, it is Kalulu the hare :)). They are all shrewd, and tricky.

  • Fantastic work Toyin. Took me back to days of tales by the moonlight
