@jhshifris1 Why would Rayburn just quit doing Break The Bank? That strikes me as unprofessional, and Gene was a veteran performer and well respected among his peers. He wasn't doing it for the money. Another rumor was he quit after someone was nearly injured doing a stunt and he didn't feel confortable doing the show. Do yo have any bavkground on why Gene was no longer there, The show took quite a hit going from a legend like Gene to little known (albeit nice and competent) guy like Joe.

If Kline and Friends wanted a straight forward game as opposed to humor, then why did they hire the king of game show humor, Gene Rayburn, to host this? Gene would've been a perfect fit for Break the Bank alright...that is, the 1976 version!

I guess 240 seconds is a LOT of time in the prize vault. I noticed that every YouTube video of Break the Bank, the couple started out with 240 seconds. I hope they put more Break the Bank videos on YouTube with Gene Rayburn.
