While backcountry skiing, around Berthoud Pass, we discovered what appears to be the area's snowpack monitoring station. The equipment appears to be a little bit weathered but still in use. Does anyone know what those hanging pieces of triangular metal are for?
The station in this video is at almost the exact same elevation as Berthoud Pass itself - 3,446 metres (11,307 feet). Formerly a ski resort, it's a great area for backcountry and telemark skiing. HOWEVER, there's always avalanche danger so be careful if you go there!
