First Quarter Moon in HD

Strap a Canon HV20 camcorder to an Intes MK67 telescope via a William Optics DCL52 eyepiece and 'Hey Presto' you're in Lunar orbit! Edited and rendered in Sony Vegas.

It's beautifull but why not the way it should be like in real? What you see at the left side of the Moon, is actually the top. People (who don't know ) would think that this is the Moon how it's really is.

The moon's orientation is different depending on where you are viewing it from on earth and the time of day and a few other things.

From the southern hemisphere of the earth the moon is upside down compared to how it looks from the north and therefore from the equator the moon is on it's side.

There is no real top of the moon, up down, left and right are all relative.

If I had taken the video form near the equator, the moon would have been on it's side.

From here in Liverpool UK, I rotated the camera so the moon filled the screen and made it easier to move along the Lunar Terminator with a single button push of my telescope drive.

I also edited the video as a mirror image because the telescope reverses it.

@stratuszen what Moon Theory? The shadow is so big/long because the sun is very low. If you'd be standing next to this "structure" your shadow could be 20 meters long or even longer. Same thing happens here on Earth during sunrise and sunset when the sun is very low

Thank for the explanation. I was a beginner (I'm so sorry), and I'm blushing now because it was a stupid question. I started months ago, so I was also interested in other video's. And I don't know if you noticed that most posters, pictures,photo's etc of the Moon is always with the 3 Mares (Serenitats, Tranquillitatis and Fecunditatis) at the right side...I know now how it works :-)

Yeah, that's beautiful. First quarter moon is the moon at its best. I'm always happy as a child when I know it's first (or last) quarter moon. Awesome video.
