  • Yes, that is exactly the point.

  • It would be good if you did make a video about it, but I can understand why you'd rather not.

  • So I can relate to your reaction, whatever its cause. But for myself I feel the art is to get people to open their minds to their own blindnesses and an emotional reaction tends to do the opposite. Of course I don't need to tell you that, you've expressed as much here.

  • I used to react quite violently to people who denied the holocaust, since I have relations who were there and their whole lives profoundly and permanently impacted by it. These days it bothers me less, though it does make me scratch my head as to why they feel the need to do so. It's similar to many other avoidant or fear based reactions I think, deny it or explain it away then you don't have to feel horrified or have your gut wrenched at the thought of mans horrendous cruelty and stupidity.

  • ....Sorry should have said:

One repetition that is what happened fairly recently to minority Serbian Muslims in Bosnia, for example.

My typing was quicker than my thought process again...

  • I'll send you a private PM with this...Btw there's lots of data out there...Firsthand testimony from survivors of the camps, and archives of concentration camp guards, etc. People who make claims that that this didn't happen often use dubious support from secondary sources...There are reasons to face the facts and they have nothing to do antisemitism. They have to do with repetition. One repetition that is still fairly recent is what happened to minority Muslim populations in Serbia, for example.

  • Wukdar, lots of textbooks and history books say A LOT about the toll that typhus took on camp victims...No one is denying that there were lots of victims of both starvation and disease in the camps. But to say that that must mean that there were therefore no gas chambers is very strange logic. I just don't understand, considering all the primary documentation to counter that claim, that you would make it here...Could you explain to me why? If I gave you bibliographical sources would you read it

  • ...just an unavoidable consequence of war...When we try to hide from that fact, it lets engineered abuse like those of Pol Pot and the atrocities happening this very minute in Zimbabwe to continue unopposed...

    I should make a video about this, I guess...But I won't.

  • Thanks, Lorlelia, for realizing that this matters to me for deep personal reasons, and when what happened is said to be just something that happens in war, I tend to have a visceral reaction. I know I shouldn't, but I do. My rational mind tells me that if I offer counter facts to the "that just war" argument, it brings out a lot of them and us talk...I just think that the reason we keep doing this to civilization populations is because we won't look at how the final solution was engineered not

  • Would you find it offensive if I offered you a hug?
